Savannahs Birthday!

Yesterday was my fiancee's niece's birthday. My future niece, Savannah, turned 13-years-old. So me and my fiancee, Sophie, decided to drive to her sister's house in Decatur to celebrate with all her family. I am in a maymester multimedia course at UGA. The course meets everyday throughout the week at 9 a.m. So I didn't really know if I wanted to make the hour and fifteen minute drive down there just to turn around and get home late, but I finished my homework early and couldn't tell Sophie no because she had to be at work this morning at 5:45 a.m. I love Sophie's family and always enjoy our time spent together. They are a lot of fun and the food is always free and delicious, even though I am not a huge fan of many vegetables I do feel good eating such healthy food. Her entire family thinks its funny to poke fun about me not liking vegetables. Anyways, we were all hanging out before eating and Sophie came up with this idea for us all to slide down the slide on Zahna and Kevin's, my future brother- and sister-in-law, playset in the backyard. But we used wax paper to slide on to get some speed (bad idea). I have not been down a slide in probably 10 years. Zahna had already busted her but falling off the bottom of the slide and when it was my turn I knew I was going to bust my ass. But I went anyway, and sure enough I busted my ass (more like slid on my ass) on the peebles at the bottom of the slide. I took some pictures of the others doing the slide, and it is too funny. Sophie was the best in my opinion, her facial expressions are great. Kevin's facial expressions were pretty close though. After our playset escapade we ate some low-country broil with shrimp and sausages, opened presents, and ate some birthday cake (icecream birthday cake, oh yeah!) By the time Sophie and I were able to leave it was about 10:30 p.m. and we had to stop and get raped at the gas station. So we didn't get home until about midnight. Yeah it was worth it going but I knew, for as much trouble as I normally have in the mornings, that this morning was going to be a bitch. Oh it was big time, no thanks to mine and Sophie's dog, Taylor, who got sick at 4 a.m. and threw up on our bed. What the hell was that about. Both of our dogs, Taylor and Atreyu, sleep in a doggy bed, but for some reason Taylor had come up on the bed and almost puked on Sophie at 4 a.m. So I get up to clean it up, because Taylor is more my dog and Atreyu more Sophie's, and stumble around. So in my multimedia class this morning we went out around the campus working on getting used to the video equipment, and all the magic buttons, and I produced the worst looking shit, shit, shit ever. Yeah it sucked and the project we are putting together next week is for the Greenville Times paper in South Carolina and the news editor is coming to our class tomorrow. He is going to look at my crap work from today and be very discouraged. Maybe not, it was the first time I have shot with a video camera as nice as the one we are using. That's where I'm at right now and god damn it I love it. Today was my off day and it pissed me off, but hopefully I can make tomorrow a really good one to make up for today. Peace up A-town down.
