Motorola Vintage Cell Phone For Sale!!

I just bought the new Iphone 3G and have decided to sell my vintage motorola cell phone. Since it is a classic I can't let it go for less than $250, but included in that is shipping and handling. As a vintage phone you may think it won't be that reliable, but honestly it is the most reliable phone I have ever used. The only cosmetic damage the phone has is that the antenna has slightly been chewed on by a very tiny dog, and it is not that noticable. If you decide to purchase this phone I recommend using the new At&t service and when you hook up the At&t service remember to use me as a reference.

Bulldog Carwash

With the water shortage issue the Bulldog Carwash off Atlanta Highway in Athens, Ga., decided to install water reuse equipment. The carwash now uses rain water, well water, and recycled water. The instillation of all this equipment is helping save water but with the economy drifting towards a recession many people are not choosing to wash their cars. Also causing people not to stop by the carwash is the rising price of gasoline. Gas just seems to be more of a neccesity than having a nice looking clean ride.

Family Beach Trip 2008

Sophie and I spent a week in Orange Beach, Alabama with my father's side of the family (the Diffly side). It was awesome, it seemed to last forever. I don't want to be back in Athens but I had such a great time. I did not spend all my time trying to photograph my trip, but I did take a bunch. If you would like to check out more of my beach photos check out my photo album on PhotoBucket.com labeled 2008DifflyVacation. Just go to www.photobucket.com/jimdiffly.

Water Issue Videos

Georgia and South Carolina Marinas on Lake Hartwell

I produced these videos during a Maymester multimedia course. In three weeks my partner, Meggie Foley, and I put together three videos for The Greeville News in South Carolina. These are them. All three of them are concerning water issues faced by people living in Georgia and South Carolina. I'm sure you are going to love the text on these videos, that is very sarcastic because the idiots at The Greenville News screwed up the text. It looks horrible, and those idiots spelled my last name wrong. It is D-I-F-F-L-Y.

UGA VI Funeral Processional @ Sanford Stadium

The University of Georgia's mascot, bulldog UGA VI, died on June 27, 2008. UGA VI was almost 10-years-old, but suffered from heart problems which led to his death. On Monday June 30, 2008, UGA VI was burried in Sanford Stadium's southwest corner. The funeral processional was private. UGA VI was owned by Frank W. "Sonny" Seiler of Savannah, Ga. Sonny and his family decided to keep the funeral private, meaning that students were not allowed to attend. What is up with that. I am a staff photographer for the University of Georgia's newspaper, the Red & Black, and I did not get in. I was stuck outside the gate in the southwest corner, and had to get my photos through a fence. Why couldn't a photographer for the school paper get in?! I was not too irritated until I started seeing more and more photographers inside the stadium getting the angles I needed. Also, I was standing next to a man from Snellville, Ga. who had bought one of UGA VI's puppies and he was not able to get in. He drove from Snellville to stand outside of the gate with me. Most of the students from the University of Georgia were standing on a bridge on Sanford Drive which overlooks the stadium. However, they couldn't see anything or hear anything. So I understand it is hard for the family of UGA VI, it is hard to lose any dog (my mother's dog, Ginger, died about a week before UGA VI, but students of the University of Georgia deserved the right to attend.

Banks and other students stood on the Sanford drive bridge overlooking the stadium. Banks and other students could not see or hear the funeral processional.

Sophie's First Car Accident

First off- check out that frown. Sophie was shaken up pretty bad.

Sophie and I got into a wreck on Sunday June 29, 2008. Sophie has been in wrecks before, but never when she was driving. So this was a special one. And it wasn't any wreck an Athens-Clarke County police officer (while on duty) rear-ended us. Yeah it sucked. I have been stiff since. We did not leave in an ambulance, but we went to the hospital on Monday to get checked out. We were a lot stiffer the day afterwards anyway. But my day just kept getting worse. On the way home after our accident we picked up a mouse to feed our snake. Well I feed the snake in the tub (where I usually do it) and when I went to pick him up the bastard bit me. It wasn't a huge deal because he is still a little snake, but it shocked me. I have never been bit before. After that me and Sophie went on a walk with our dogs. We were planning on going swimming after the walk so I already had on my bathing suit. I have one pocket on the bathing suit and it is tiny. My phone wouldn't fit in it so I gave it to Sophie to hold. When we got back Sophie went to the bathroom and I hear her yell, "Oh shit." She had put my phone in her back pocket and it fell out right into the toilet. The phone is gone, luckily I had a spare backup. But we still went to the pool, and while we were there it started storming. One of those summer thunderstorms. Sophie did not want to get out of the pool. But there was lightning and the way my day had been going I would have been struck by lightning. But Sophie is the lifeguard, she should have been telling me to get out. Anyways, we walked back to our apartment while it was storming really bad. Thank god its done with, but damn what a shitty day.
