Bill Clinton in Atlanta

So I called Jim Martins office yesterday and asked for a press pass, they said "Oh no problem, even though it's the day of it's really no problem" and I gave them my name, phone number, and e-mail. I thought I was set. So I left Athens at 2 o'clock, when the doors opened at 4. I got stuck in traffic and did not get in until 4:20, after parking a few blocks from where I needed to be. And when I went to pick up my press pass they told me they had already given them all out and they were sorry. So in search of making something out of nothing I asked them if I could stand in an area that was opened up in the middle, but no that was secret service area. I asked for a chair and they said no. So I wandered around for a bit and then decided I would climb into a tree. I got in the tree and was there for a good hour and half. I was not sitting in the tree or standing on a even branch, I was standing in between two wedges of the truck. Yep, I am a little sore today. But no wait, as I was in the tree a lady wondered over to me and asked me if I would take pictures for her. I was like no way, I'm working. But no no wait! Another lady came over and asked if she could share the tree with me, stand in the other wedge next to the one I was standing in, and I said yes thinking that she would only be there for a few minutes at most, but no she was there the entire time. Okay, I'm done with my rant, but sometimes I wish the people that looked at my photos or slideshows knew the bullshit I had to go through to get the shot. Oh well and here it is-

North Atlanta's High School Football Game of the Week Highlights: Parkview at Berkmar

I am very happy with the way this highlight reel turned out. There are not some of the big plays I have captured in past games, but the package is just really solid and looks great.

FREE BLU-RAY DVD RENTALS: NO GIMMICKS

Hollywood Video is renting blu-ray dvds for free. There are no strings attached, no hidden fees, or any of that mumble-jumble. However, you can only have one out at a time. The rentals are five day rentals too. They are continuing this promotion for a while. A date has not been set for when the promotion is ending, which means there is not an end in sight. What a great deal for people who have blu-ray players. I personally find the situation kind of funny because the Hollywood Video up the street from me was not renting blu-ray dvds and I complained to the manager because going anywhere else is much more out of the way; I am able to walk to the Hollywood Video near me. So the manager gave me a corporate Hollywood Video phone number to call and complain so that they would have a better chance of getting the blu-ray dvds. So that I did, and to my suprise I guess it helped because no joke less than a month afterwards the Hollywood Video was renting blu-ray dvds. Granted Hollywood Video did not have the blu-ray selection Blockbuster boasts they made their humble beginning none the less. And now maybe six months later they are promoting a free blu-ray dvd special, possibly because they are having a hard time renting them. I do not think that blu-ray makes that big of a deal. If you have a good TV then the picture is going to be good. The blu-ray may make a slight noticable difference in animated movies, but really I don't notice a much better picture. Oh well, Hollywood Video is renting them for FREE!!!

Associated Press preseason football rankings put UGA at #1

The University of Georgia takes the top spot atop the AP preseason football rankings. UGA took no. 1 over Ohio State. The Bulldogs earned the top spot by recieving one more vote than the Buckeyes. This is the first time ever that the Georgia Bulldogs have ever recieved the AP no. 1 spot. The Bulldogs now are no. 1 according to the USA Today's Coaches poll, the AP poll, and by the Sports Illustrated rankings. Besides the high ratings the Bulldogs are not used to there are other issues surrounding the season that could make supersticious folks uneasy. The UGA Chapel Bell which has been wrung after every home win for some time has been taken down over the offseason and refurbished and the bell tower is completly new. It could be blamed for a bad football season as easily as it could for a good one. The bell is not the only thing that could be blamed for the way the season turns out. Don't forget the Bulldogs mascot UGA VI passed away over this past summer. The new mascot, UGA VII, will be welcomed at the Bulldogs home opener against Georgia Southern on Saturday August 30. To check out the complete AP poll follow this link: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/rankingsindex. GO DAWGS!!!!

My New Friday Night Job

This video is of Mt. Zion High School at Meadow Creek High School (Blue) on August 15, 2008. The game was a full preseason one, but it did not count towards the regular season. Meadow Creek won the game 14-0. I am doing video for Gwinnett County High School varsity football team's every Friday night for the 2008 season. I am really happy with this job and excited every week. I am working for OurVarsity.com which is an awesome company run by some great people. It really is a lot of fun and the kids love it. I will try to post the videos of my games, but you should check out http://www.ourvarsity.com/.

UGA's Chapel Bell Tower To Be Replaced

The University of Georgia's Chapel Bell Tower is being replaced. The UGA Chapel Bell is rung victoriously after every home football victory. The bell was damaged last year and raised questions about the safety of the bell tower. A new tower now awaits to be put in after the old one was removed. The old one dated back to 1913. University officials believed it was no longer sturdy enough to hold the 700-pound bell. While a new tower was being built the bell got refurbished and polished. The whole bell and tower are set to be reassembled on Friday August 15, 2008. A ceremonial first ring of the newly assembled bell will take place at 3 p.m. on Friday.

UGA #1 in USA Today's Coaches Poll

The first real preseason poll came out on August 1. The USA Today's Coaches poll placed the University of Georgia as #1 in the nation. I would also like to mention that the Ohio State Buckeyes placed at #3 which is not bad, but it is not #1. If you would like to see the whole preseason poll visit: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/football/usatpoll.htm. GO DAWGS!!

Motorola Vintage Cell Phone For Sale!!

I just bought the new Iphone 3G and have decided to sell my vintage motorola cell phone. Since it is a classic I can't let it go for less than $250, but included in that is shipping and handling. As a vintage phone you may think it won't be that reliable, but honestly it is the most reliable phone I have ever used. The only cosmetic damage the phone has is that the antenna has slightly been chewed on by a very tiny dog, and it is not that noticable. If you decide to purchase this phone I recommend using the new At&t service and when you hook up the At&t service remember to use me as a reference.

The third annual Countdown to Kickoff Fan Day was held at the UGA practice football field on July 19, 2008. The Countdown to Kickoff Fan Day is a chance for Bulldog fans to meet current and former UGA football players, mascots, cheerleaders, and the Majorettes. Bulldog Carwash

With the water shortage issue the Bulldog Carwash off Atlanta Highway in Athens, Ga., decided to install water reuse equipment. The carwash now uses rain water, well water, and recycled water. The instillation of all this equipment is helping save water but with the economy drifting towards a recession many people are not choosing to wash their cars. Also causing people not to stop by the carwash is the rising price of gasoline. Gas just seems to be more of a neccesity than having a nice looking clean ride.
